Happy Halloween!!! Homemade Shark Costumer

Ah, my second favorite holiday! Love sharks and love dressing up! Here's my homemade (obviously) shark costume!

For realism, I pretended to eat the cat. No worries, he was a semi-willing participant in this pose.

I'm not going to get sick this October

Every October I get totally sick. Like hyperactive flu, bronchitis, pneumonia, sinus infection where I want to rip my eyes out sick. This happens literally every October that I've been back in New England. SO, this year, I'm taking every precaution and even spending my right leg and left ear (the good one) on all homeopathic treatments available. Ridiculously expensive raw honey and vitamins are keeping me well so far... But here's hoping I don't end up like this Kitteh.

So I'm looking into boxing...

I have this crazy reoccurring dream where I'm walking in a busy city, get mugged and when I try to fight back, my arms turn basically to Jell-o. Almost as if instead of Stretch Armstrong's indestructible arms, more like silly putty... I take this as that I need to work out more. Or possibly try something like boxing or kickboxing. Yoga is always fun but maybe I'll try something new.

You have kegs, I have a wine tap.

Amazing and totally necessary... Now,

Honey Whiskey

I'm not normally a whiskey drinker but in my obsession with honey lately, I could totally try this.

Halloween!!!

Ah, the wonderful time of year where the leaves change, the air is brisk and everyone in the office has a raging cold. Oh well. At least one of my top favorite movies is on tv non-stop: HOCUS POCUS. Bette Midler, zombies, un-dead black cat, all the parents in a town possessed and a virgin lighting a candle. It truly has stood the test of time.

Also, it's that time of year where the days are shorter...
So this is me:

The life of an art director

First I should preface: I love what I do. But sometimes, my imagination runs wild.
Today, I was asked to take a lovely picture of a crepe and add some flecks of mushroom to it. As I started to do this, I noticed it was smiling at me...

And then... I realized the Crepe was french...

Perfect!

Lame Eel jokes

My grandmother wasn't feeling so well and she (seemingly) loves lame jokes. She hasn't been able to check her email for a while so I thought I would mail her some Bad Eel Jokes. I printed these out and mailed them to her this week. Hope she loves them as much as I do.

The Queen in pantone

Don't know where this came from, but it's amazing. WHO ELSE but the Queen would have enough outfits to fill a pantone book? LOVE.

Box wine handbag? Life is better.

Amazing. Everything just became a soirée.

My rent-a-dog, Journey

Journey's parents (my dear friends) are currently off protecting our country. Her mom returns at the end of the month and meanwhile, Journey and I get to hang out together! She's such a great dog, so sweet and I love this pup. We have been having a blast (minus a little stomach bug).
Journey met her twin!

New Thank You Cards!

I've been working on these thank you cards for a while. Love illustrating and thought these were fun! The insides have the translations. Just thought these would be a more interesting way to give some gratitude. If you're interested in buying them, send me a message! I'm thinking of selling them through etsy.

Messenger Bag!

Made this with vintage fabric and an old belt from my grandmother. She's much tinier than me, so I thought this was a better use for the belt.

Tutorial coming soon!

Gary Busey as every character from the wizard of Oz

Look who got a grown up dresser

Finally: my bedroom is coming together. Nevermind it's 3 years later.
Frames are vintage postcards for Maine and Portland, a map of Firenze, Italy, an old painting of a ship, a 1950's plate with a map of Virginia and my jewelry hanging in a frame.

Gentlemen of the Road: Mumford and Sons comes to Portland Maine!

Great show! Absolutely amazing and so great for my wonderful neighborhood. I call the eastern prom my backyard (although it technically is one street over but whatevs). It's an unbelievable feeling to walk out of my house and into a music festival.

It's awesome to see people recognizing this wonderful little city and appreciating it for all it's glory. I couldn't be more proud to have our city selected for this show. Fantastic music? Check. Everyone I know at one show? Check. Dancing? Check. Fireworks?! CHECK CHECK CHECK.

Also, if this ever happens again, expect me to go around selling freezy pops earlier in the day. The heat was a little insane and I know I could have made a fortune with the freezy pops.
