I can't stress enough how important this book is. It's a true story of a Muslin Syrian-American man who helps the victims of Katrina by rescuing them in his canoe. What happens through the rest of the book is equally shocking and moving. It's one of those books that when you put it down, you're replaying the events throughout your mind for days after.
What's also amazing... Dave Eggers is (from what the wikipedia bird says) not profitting from this book but instead the money is going to The Zeitoun Foundation.
This will be a movie for sure...
